Retrovia - specialises in mid-20th century furniture from famous Scandinavian and British designers, along with antique and vintage quality pieces.

Retrovia aims to supply original, iconic items that will be appreciated and enjoyed for many years to come by like-minded collectors or enthusiasts.

We strive to source interesting and sought after pieces in good condition rather than those in need of restoration.  Thus our stock is normally simply cleaned and revived, as appropriate, without resorting to extensive restoration which so often detracts from the original manufacturer's finish.

Sourcing good items also means we can leave major restoration work or up-cycling projects to individual personal taste.

Consequently, items supplied by Retrovia can be relied upon as being genuine quality pieces for sale at competitive prices to be used and cherished.

Please note: The majority of our items are in their original state when sold and, consequently, may fall outside the scope of the Fire & Safety Regulations Act of 1988 – such items, in particular soft furnishings, can only be used as decorative pieces, works of art or for commercial use and export unless they have been newly re-upholstered and comply with the current regulations.

The same applies to certain items which contain pieces of glass that may not comply with current safety standards and therefore, as with antiques, should not be relied upon to meet current regulatory safely standards.

As with most glass products, sensible precautions should be adopted which would include, but is not limited to, never placing hot objects on glass surfaces and understanding that (due to their age) glazed units, glass shelves and surfaces are unlikely to be made from safety glass and will thus have limited strength and weight-loading capacities.
