William IV Balloon Back Side/Desk Chair      

An exceptional William IV chair in mahogany, having a most attractive and skillfully carved acanthus and scroll shaped balloon back and centre splat with gadrooning, supported by fine turned and reeded front legs in the manor of ‘Gillows’ with sabre back legs. Circa 1830. 

At some recent point the chair has been reupholstered to provide a comfortable seat covered in quality fabric of gold paisley on a brown background.
