A harlequin set of 2 + 1 very similar Jacobean (c.1700) carved oak hall chairs; the only noticeable difference being that one chair has a smaller central roundel turning to the front stretcher. Otherwise, the chairs have matching carved elements (including the deer-hoof bases to the front legs) and are in extremely good, original condition with peg dowel construction, recessed seats for drop-in seat squabs recently refurbished and covered in a peach coloured velour.
As would be expected with chairs of this age, there are obvious signs of use and minor repairs carried out over the centuries, nevertheless, the chairs are in good, solid condition with no evidence of worm at all.
