Danish Oak Armchair – Model 230 by Kurt Olsen

This mid-1950s Danish armchair designed by Kurt Olsen for Slagelse Møbelvaerk, Denmark, and bearing the brand mark and no. 230, has a stylish oak frame with paddle armrests and the original, oatmeal coloured, woollen upholstered seat and back with button feature. The frame is solid, with a pleasing and relatively unmarked original finish, and forms a very comfortable seat with the original fabric showing minor wear to the seat pad material commensurate with age and use.  Overall, this is an excellent and early example of both the durability and enduring style of mid-century Danish design.
