Danish 'Albert' High-back Easy Chair by Finn Østergaard

A Danish ‘Albert’ high-back Easy Chair from the 1970s, designed by Finn Østergaard comprising a light beech frame and woven canvas strap slung seat and tan leather surround also featured as edging and strap fastening the detachable neck pillow / headrest. The woven canvas seat and leather are in very good, sound condition with minimal wear on the headrest pillow commensurate with age.

About the Designer

Finn Østergaard (B.1946 - ) graduated as a furniture designer in 1975 from the Furniture Department of the School of Arts and Crafts, having already established his own design office and been self-employed ever since. Primarily designing chairs, Finn Østergaard, was awarded the Bo Bedre “Furniture Prize of the Year” in 1977-78 with the design of this ‘Albert’ chair; a style that has remained popular in both the high- and low-back versions.
