SOLD - 1960s Toothill “Wentworth” Sofa / Day Bed   

A classic and ever popular design is this ‘Wentworth’ sofa or day bed by Toothill.  Made of afromosia and a sturdy steel frame raised on detachable, afromosia turned legs and copper-finished supports allowing the afromosia veneered side trays to cantilever out when using the sofa as a day bed. Afromosia and copper elements also high-light the cleverly engineered back rest which can be flipped out of the way when the sofa is used as a bed.

One side tray has a small ring mark and some wear to the copper finish on the back fold-over hinge. The frame is in very good vintage condition having new replacement cushions covered in luxuriously soft faux sheepskin fabric making this an extremely attractive piece of mid-20^th century furniture.
