1950s Sideboard

Reputedly a dining set from the 1951 Festival of Great Britain, this sideboard (together with the dining table referenced below) certainly has similar elements to the designs exhibited by Ercol and Heals at that time.  The sideboard is very similar to a design by Christopher Heal and a popular shape as can be seen when compared to the Gordon Russell’s ‘Helix Sideboard’.

The compact size and shape of the vintage mid 20^th century sideboard, constructed from beech has a small upstand surrounding the top surface above two drawers with 2 cupboards below having tongue & groove patterned doors.
