About the Designer
Peter Løvig Nielsen (B.1925) was very active during the Scandinavian modern movement in the 1950s & 1960s, notably for his use of quality woods, especially rosewood, walnut and teak, and particularly for his organic designs, perhaps the most famous being the Boomerang desk in 1956, produced by Hedensted Mobelfabrik. Although a little ahead of the mid-century period, Peter Løvig Nielsens’ designs are now re-emerging as an important part the high-quality pieces of mid-20th century vintage furniture which are highly sought after in the US.
