Circular Teak Dining Table by Morris of Glasgow         

A circular teak dining table with an attractive, surrounding ebony inlaid band approx 4 cms from the table edge. The table stands on square, slightly tapering legs which are detachable for ease of transport or movement and extends to an oval (seating 6 people) by means of a folding, swivel central leaf.  When not extended, the top is held firmly closed by two catches on the underside and there is no colour change between the table top and the extension leaf.

Attributed to Morris of Glasgow (designer and supplier of furniture to HM Queen Elizabeth II on her marriage in 1947 and for the Royal Yacht Britannia http://www.morrisfurniture.co.uk/history/ )  known for excellent quality that can be seen in this piece which is in very good condition apart from a small mark in the table top that does not detract greatly from the overall appearance.

Dimensions: H 29½” / 75 cm,  Dia 43” / 110 cm and 56” / 143 cm when fully open.
